Just wondering if I need high-heat paint to paint the intake or the valve covers, or if any good auto spray-paint will work. I am planning on doing them later this year. Thanks for any help.

Anyway I believe yamaha sho did a nice write up on how to properly prep, paint and bake any and all parts. Its over a year old or so and in a thread with like 30 or so views. The link he provided will help you look for that.

Not to be smart, but 1. Does the engine get hot? :bonk: Sorry, I just couldn't resist. I used hi temp heat paint on mine and it turned out real nice! Now I'm polishing another set of runners! :thumb:

You don't need "heat paint", just a good quality paint. I've used paint made for heat and regular paint and the regular paint held up and looks better. The intake and valve covers should not see anything over 250 degree.
