Hey,

just finished the modification of the left parking light to convert it into a DRL. I know that you can buy them aftermarket and what I saw were great products, but the price was just way to high for this 2011 project car of mine.

The biggest pain was to open the lamp without damaging it. After that its 10 minutes work. Just installing ultrabright 5630 SMD strip, solder it to the connectors and its more or less done. It is very bright, will do pictures at daytime tomorrow.

Will also install a 8$ DRL module which automatically turns them on and automatically dim them if you turn on the Headlamps

Material costs are less than 10 dollars for both sides. I can make more pictures doing the other side if there are specific questions.

Best
Sascha

They look great. Can you post the bill of materials and the vendor where to buy them???

Nice work! I bought the aftermarket ones - but just curious do you have to have the lights on to work or parking lights?
