distributer box melted

what can caus the the distributer box to melt i have to 2 amp's hooked to it and the sub amp is the only one that melted..

make sure your using the proper guage wire and make sure your grounds are good, too much resistance could cause that to happen

i have 4 gauge main and 8 gauge ground's the grounds are about 2 feet long and after the dis.box i have 8 gauge wire going to the amp's

Sounds like the disributor box got grounded some how. Thats the only thing that I can think of with out seeing it.

Did you crack the housing at all ??
