I'm trying to find the cause of the stumbling my 91 is having under accelleration. Reading a variety of posts here it could be a variety of things. I was digging through my boxes of spare parts and I have a DIS module, a coil, and a MAF sensor... but I don't know if they're any good. My question is: Where can I bring these to see if they're any good? Do AZ or AA have the equipment to test these?

Thanks!

I believe AutoZoo can still test DIS modules, but coils and MAF's you just have to swap and see. If it's just under accel, my guess would be a dirty MAF sensor or bad plug wire.

You coming to Kirk's BBQ Saturday?

Hey Chris!

I couldn't wait for an answer (had a window of opportunity while the baby was content) and I swapped out the DIS and cleaned the MAF. I installed a new fuel filter yesterday too. Took the car for a rip and the stumbling has disappeared. These cars have a way of being temporarily fixed so I've got my fingers crossed that this was the problem. The car still seems underpowered during fWOT. Not sure what to do there...

What time is Kirk's shindig? I'm taking a spin out to OCC on Saturday with the buddy and our wives on the bikes. Depending on the time I'll probably make the trip out.

Look at your plugs if it still feels underpowered. These engines are finicky about them.

Probably about due for a set of plugs and wires.

The BBQ starts at 2, but the E. Brookfield fireworks don't start until 9:30 so pretty much any time works. I'm sure we'll be going late into the night as usual!

I think I changed the plugs when I put in new VC gaskets about a year and a half / 10,000 miles ago. Can't hurt to do the wires and the plugs are cheap enough.

OK on the BBQ Chris... I'm not sure what time we'll be bakc from OCC but I'll make an honest attempt to get at least myself out there Saturday evening. I take it the fireworks are viewed from his house???

Sounds good Mike!

Yeah, the fireworks are set off a couple hundred yards behind his house so his backyard offers a perfect view.
