I read another thread on here talking about a stock subwoofer in the SHO. I have a 94 and all I can see in mine is the stock 5x7s in the rear deck above 2 JBL amps, along with the stock 6.5"s in the front. I wired my speakers directly to the in dash bypassing the amps. I would like a little more out of my speakers as they don't really hit as hard as I would like. Any suggestions for a $150 budget???

If you have a black box mounted under the rear deck, then you have the sub. If you have two JBL amps mounted and don't have a sub, someone took the sub out.

It may have not come with a subwoofer. Do your rear speakers have JBL stickers on the magnets? My 93 sho, for instance, is a low option model and came with the Ford Premium sound tape deck with a single amp and whizzer cone speakers in the front doors. The cutout and mounting studs are there for the subwoofer however. My front doors say "premium sound" on the speaker grilles where they would say JBL on a car that had that system, and all the speakers were marked "premium speaker advanced cone material".

I was always wondering what that little cut out was in the center of the rear deck. But yes, I have the JBL premium sound and it has the JBL stickers on the back of all 4 speakers.

So what size was the stock subwoofer for these cars? Like a little 8 inch?

I have a sub box for grabs

I got a spare sub box (no speaker) from a '95 ATX. It fits a 8" sub good. Just find a sub that fits about .5 cu.ft. and you will be good to go. Or buy a 6.5" and replace it without modding.

The spare box is up for grabs. Has the uncut harness, baffling, speaker foam grill, and the foam sealing ring for the rear deck.

I just put a JLAudio 6w0 in mine sounds great and was a perfect fit. I picked mine up from woofersetc.com for $100 bucks and free shipping.
