Wow, looks like an awesome club. I didn't even realize there was an SVT club for North Texas. Does anyone know if there are any SHO members? It looks like they have a lot to do over there.

I've known about the gathering for quite some time. SVT, generally about once a year, will sponsor a day at TMS where everyone gets to drive the oval, the autocross track, gets goodies, etc.
I'm sure SHO's would be more than welcome. If the Contour SVT's are there, then by God SHO's had better be.
Try to stop by, especially since it's not far from us and it's in Adam's backyard. Cya

That sounds like fun. I'll be there. Question, though...are they having the Oval track open, or are they switching it to road race form? They have a way they can adjust the course to where it's actually more of a road race course. A guy at a shop I use from time to time showed me one time and tried to get me to race my Rx7 there. He showed me where they had changed the oval to where the back stretch changes to a 5 turn course and back into the oval on the front stretch. Just curiouse. I'd rather drive a road course than an oval....kinda' boring with only left turns.

I emailed the head cheese of the club and he said we were more than invited as long as the cars/trucks were Fords and Ford-powered (i.e. no mustangs w/ chevy engines). I kindly forwarded backon that SHOs are yamahammered.
Currently he said SHOs are no-SHOws at the gathering.
This will be my first event to see what its all about.

Awesome, Mike. I didn't read anywhere that you had to be a member of the club to attend, or do you? I may join in the coming months, but just for the get-together, do you have to join?

No problem, man. Between the bar find and the bracket kits Jeff Noel is selling, you can have a firmed-up front-end for under $50. Not a bad deal.

There's a guy from the TCCA forums who came up with a replacement kit for the OEM hood sturts on his GL. They use new replacement struts that are relocated to the sides of the engine bay area (next to the strut towers). He's selling them for $20-40, depending on what parts you buy. It's a good alternative to the hood strut problem. I'm still working on a solution to keep the OEM struts. Either way, you'll have struts.Jeremy Hohn:

I will see if I can steal the digi cam... belive me my SHO is far from sho quality with my clearcoat comming off and all... I will keep an eye out for other SHO's in the lot

Sorry, guys, I couldn't make it out today. I had to pick up a longtime friend at the airport this evening, after a day of catting around. I think the trip to the ******'s carwash did me for the day, although the trip to Chuck's woulda been the icing on the cake!
