Definite miss when cold then smooths out when warm.

Just cropped up a few days ago after a day of heavy rain. Ran perfect before the storm. Anyway when the engine is cold it has a huge miss but after it's ran and warms up, it goes away. Weird. Now admittedly I haven't been driving the car a lot but it was running good. No codes are present.

Long-shot, but any chance there is water in the plug wells? Push the coil end of the plug wires down to make sure they are seated. Sometimes those little hold down clips are missing (either 1 or both) on the wire end.

Is the weatherstripping along the firewall secure? Any moisture in that area? Ground properly tightened and dry? If so, I too would check the plug wells on that side.

Everything is fine. Didn't see any moisture anywhere or any water burn off when the engine got hot. I placed my hand over the exhaust yesterday to see how many cylinders are missing and felt and heard two distinct misses in a row then it smoothed out. Hiccups is more like it.

Going to pop off the intake and see what's happening back there.

If the coil packs are getting old, it could be them. When wet they can arc out, causing a miss. Once hot the arcing, and missing, stops. Next time it is all wet, start the motor in a darkened area and look for pale blue arcing.

Found the problem and it wasn't water but oil. Front left two tubes were leaking. Explains the cold two in a row cylinder miss as the plugs in 7 and 8 were covered in oil. Those two cylinders fire sequentially. Put a layer of RTV on the well tube gaskets and new plugs and it's running good. Best part of it all is it was in the front and easy to fix.
