It was explained with links to each blower class.

The old SHO Shop kit used S-Trim or SQ-Trim blowers. The S- gears are straight cut, making them "noisy". The SQ's are basically the same blower, with helical-cut gears for "quiet" (note the quotes; I've heard the SQ's and they weren't "quiet", just "quieter". You aren't sneaking up on anyone with either).

I was looking at the T-Trim upgrade early last year before selling my blower SHO last fall. The T-Trim pushes a little more air per rpm than the S-Trim, and IIRC has a higher max impeller RPM. FYI, the impellers are spinning around 45,000-50,000 rpms at the SHO's top end, depending on the pulley diameter you choose. This was one of the problems with the Powerdyne; greater than say, 8psi, you were over-spinning the rated max rpms of the impeller at the SHO's redline. Vortech has a nice calculator on their site, IIRC the SHO Crank dampener is 6", and use the pulley sizes they list in the thread to calculate the max rpms at the desired SHO engine redline.

IIRC, even with the S-Trim I had for a trade-in, a T-Trim upgrade would have cost me around $1200, which wasn't worth it to me to move up to at the time.

Thanks for the info.
I was trying to reach NESHOSPECIALISTS via phone a couple of days ago and left a message.

What is the boost capacity of the T-trim?
