Today I brought my '93 SHO ATX to the used car dealership where I bought it. The tranny need to be rebuilt and it's still under warranty for a few days. Got a '96 Bonneville as a loaner. Put 50 miles or so on it tonight running errands. 5 miles or so before my house, it started knocking. It sounded like spark knock, and it was only from a stop to about 35 or 40mph, after it reached speed it seemed fine. Checked out under the hood when home and found nothing, oil was full too. Went out a few minutes ago to start it and it even knocks at idle. Spark knock at idle? The only reason I'm worried is that I had to put up quite a fight about the tranny in my SHO, so they're not too happy with me already. I know I didn't cause this, but they might try to say I beat on it . Has anybody had a loaner break down on them? Does anybody know if the dealership can hold me responsible for repairs? Any help or reassurance welcome! Just never let me drive yours since I seem to have the death touch to cars!

Even thou I can't see or hear for that fact, whats it is. It could be a loud PING from the gas. What kind of gas do you use ?? (REG-SUPER). If it is a "ping", add some dry-gas. It should clear it. Won't hurt to add some super as well.

That's what I thought too. Took it out last night after I added some ISO-Heet and fuel injector cleaner. The knock wasn't as loud as before, oil pressure was good and temp didn't get too hot. I only got about 4 miles though. Now it will start but it barely turns over. Must have been a wristpin or a rod bearing. I have to go in a few minutes to the dealership and drop off the keys and they're giving me another loaner. That's not too bad for customer service.
