im thinking about putting Cams on my list of things to buy during my springtime 3.2 swap.

im not too worried about below 3500 rpm performance however im at a loss and as there isnt much info out there can. you bless me with the down and dirty between the +40's and the tri-flows.

p.s. i want bastard idle :evilgrin:

also, is a tune "required" with either of these.

yes, all the tech info was there but i wanted to know the laymans difference between the triflows and the +40's

and if i needed to have the car tuned after.....

no big deal, ill just revisit joshs site and do more searching.

Any SHO with Cams can strongly benefit from a Tune. My SHO has +20's and essentially no Tune on the car (Besides the Idle Rasied and a few other things). With the +20's, My car does Idle, However come to a stop to Fast, Or let the RPM's drop to fast (I.E. - Be at 5000+ RPM's and then Push in the clutch and hit the Brakes to come to a stop) and the car likes to do Die. Right now, Because of I chucked the TweeCer (Gave it to Tim Tyner) my car is on absolutely No tune. It's driveable, Still makes power but the Idle issue is exemplified. I imagine a good Tune on my car would really wake it up however.

Tune will always help, regardless.

Triflows will give you +40 power after 4k, below its similiar to the +10 IIRC.

on the other hand, theres a set of stage 1's in James's shed..

40+ needs a tuner , no way around it , idle must be set higher , or it will always stall.

never saw it mentioned anywhere, but i suppose it would. Only on one of the intake valves in each cylinder, though.

i know of a certain RWD SHO that has 40+ cams on a stock tune.
idle screw ftw.

The idle screw will not hold the raised idle. The computer will compensate for it, and return it to stock.

The +40 cam's with stock 3.0 or 3.2 pistons WILL be interference!
Seeing as the Tri flo cams use the +40 grind on the secondary set of valves, This Will make them interferance as well.
