I was installing my AIRAID CAI I noticed that the metal band on the filter element was manufactured so that when the filter was installed it was showing on top and the rubber bottom of the filter was upside down.. I dident think much of it at the time because I was soo excited to FINALLY have it and the Livernois tune installed... The other day while I was washing it, my G/F pointed out that it was installed upside down, I told her that it was just mis-manufactured, but it still works.... Well, Just to make sure I wasent on crack, I contacted David from AIRAID, and he told me to send him pictures of it, I sent him a couple of pics late lastnight, and at like 9:00 this morning, I got a email from him stating the I was correct and the filter WAS Mis-Manufactured and he was sending me out a new one, then about 10 min. later, he emailed me back and told me that the weatherstripping looked like it had a little bit of rust on it and he was sending me a replacement one of those as well!!! I just wanted to post this write up and let everyone know what AWESOME customer service AIRAID has!!! They stand behind their products 100%!!!!! Awesome Company, Awesome Product!!!!.. If you havent bought a CAI yet, I advise you to buy one from David @ AIRAID!!!! Thanks again David!!!!

I emailed Airaid asking if the 2011 SHO intake is CARB certified since I live in California. Below is the response I received.

"Yes it is legal and comes with the carb eo sticker when you purchase the kit. Thanks and have a great day!

Based on his response, I bought the intake but upon receipt of the item it turns out it's not CARB certified. No CARB OE sticker and a label on the box says "Not Legal for Sale or use in CA on pollution controlled vehicles". I can't send it back without incurring restocking fee.

I called Airaid and spoke to Ben. According to him they should have the certification in about 5 to 6 months since 2010 intakes are already approved therefore it's just matter of time for the 2011 intakes to be certified. I sure hope he is telling the truth.

David what's your take on this?

First, I want to apologize for the mis-information that you received.

The 2010 model is Currently CARB approved, and the 2011 model has been submitted and we are just waiting to hear back from CARB.

We do not foresee any issue's, but currently we have done our part and our hands are tied waiting to hear back from CARB.
