I decided to start a new post about fixing the dash pad in my car, instead of updating my "Getting Her Ready" post.
As some may have seen, the dash pad had popped up near the windshield where the softer part meets a harder plastic part. So far, I had some heavy weight, (old brake rotors in their boxes), sitting on top of the popped up section and left them on there for a couple of weeks. After the first week, I checked and the pad was really starting to flatten back out so, I left the weights on there for another week.
Today I checked again and decided to go ahead and try some adhesive.
First I took a blow dryer and heated up the area. Next, I applied some adhesive made by Loctite called "Power Grab", I had to put the stuff on my finger tip and apply under the lip of the popped up section being careful to not make a mess with the stuff and get it all over the place, it's very thick stuff and is stiffer than caulk so it stayed put on my fingers until I got it in place. After I thought I had enough adhesive smeared in there, I then took the brake rotors out of their boxes, wrapped them in towels and placed them back on top of the pad. The wrapped rotors provide plenty of downward pressure and I was able to get closer to the windshield with them out of their boxes. I will leave everything alone for a few days and see what happens. Hope it all works, probably won't be perfect but at least the pad won't be popped up like it was before.

Thank you for that info, I didn't think about checking at V8SHO. Those instructions are for the part of the dash pad above the instrument cluster but the adhesive mentioned may be just what I need.
When I first got my car back in 2003 the dash pad above the instrument cluster was starting to separate as mentioned in the article, I used an adhesive, (don't remember what it was), and laid a flexible stainless steel ruler across the edges of the pad and clamped it all down tight. Years later, it is actually still holding.

I've repaired a couple dashes using the Loctite 410 Black Max called out by the TSB. Great stuff. Once applied that dash isn't going anywhere. If you apply it on a hot day (hot dash), as the TSB recommends, the stuff will setup very fast; no need to apply pressure for hours. The primary purpose of applying with a hot dash is to allow the dash pad to stretch sufficiently over the dash, but as well, my impression is that the hot surfaces act as an activator resulting in a nearly immediate cure.

I know your issue is different, but I was focused on the adhesive. Also, the way you did the curved front is partially why I'm thinking maybe it needs to be pushed in and under and somehow make sure those two surfaces have enough joining area to set and seal--- Just throwing out ideas from lake wobegon over here.

Hey I really appreciate it. I will try to find that adhesive and start the process over again. Today I was pushing down on the part that is popped up and it is very flexible so at least I have that working in my favor.
My son had Graduation pictures made today and we spent most of yesterday and today getting the car cleaned up for the pics as he wanted some with the car. I will share a few. 80063242228deba04d57fe47d2f691c747b6fae4ab811721ca36f141d89fe71c

Found this also, wonder what the number difference is? Says Black Max on the label but 380 instead of 410. What's the difference?

410 is is the TSB or whatever the guidance was at the time. I'm not sure the contact information on the v8 post is still good as I believe the loctite and permatex companies were split. If you are not sure you could always look for a good loctite number. I think they are owned by a German parent company now.

It looks like the 410 and the 380 are very similar. However the shear strength of the 410 is a tiny bit higher on certain materials and the 410 has a higher viscosity.

Thanks, she has issues, but as to be expected from sitting for so many years. A couple of days ago I discovered that the trunk had been leaking, and it looks like it has been leaking for quite some time. I removed the trunk mat to let it dry out and when I looked under the panel where the spare tire is stored, man what a mess I found in there. The jack was all rusty looking like it came out of a pond or something. I haven't seen any rust but geez, what a mess. The underside of the trunk lid was very wet with what looked like condensation also. I cleaned out the drain channels and dried everything and will check tomorrow to see if it is still dry, it has been raining here all day so, if it still leaks, I will definitely know it.

This is the mess I found in the trunk. It looks worse than it actually was. The drain channels were very dirty with leaves, lots of leaves and I imagine that is why the trunk was leaking. I cleaned the drain channels completely the other day and it rained the night and all the next day, so, today I checked the trunk and the top parts were dry but where the spare is stored had a couple of inches of water, probably been in there for a while as I didn't clean it out the other day. Today I vacuumed all the water out and wiped down the inside of the trunk with a towel. Now when it rains again, this weekend, I will know for sure if the trunk is still leaking or not. The seal around the trunk lip is in perfect condition by the way.
Anyway, here are a couple/few pics of the continuing progress of bringing her back to life. Oh and I have the trunk liner/matting, it's in my storage building drying out.

Holy crap!
Yeah I know right? Looked like something that you'd find in a mud pit or something. It all looked like rust but was more like mud. It's all cleaned up now. It is supposed to rain this weekend so, I will get a good look at seeing if it leaks again.
