Can you put upgraded turbos and a meth kit on a stock engine SHO? I thought one or the other was possible, but not both. How far can you push the stock long block before "weak spots" start showing up?

Ok, but do you have customers that do it anyway? If so, what gives up usually? Is it something "minor", like the head gaskets? Or is it something "major", like the rotating assembly?

We do not usually have clients that disregard that safety warning. If someone did decide to do meth and turbos without the engine fortification we would have to water down the tune so badly that you wouldn't even know that there were aftermarket turbos on the car.

Ok, then I would think the customer in this thread is getting at least a short block too. That will be a fast car, when it's all done.

What is the weak part in the short block? Rods? Pistons? Fasteners? Oil pump gears, just like the Mustangs?

They are all the weak points. The block itself being open deck suffers from cylinder contortion.

Rotating assembly is not made for that type of power nor RPM.

The fasteners do not the required tensile strength for that power level.

The pump gears are powdered metal...do I need to get into that one?

Still waiting for drive train upgrades. In the meantime, the tune can help the stock engine make same power with less effort after the turbos and meth kit are installed. Also means less stress on the engine. Wouldn't hesitate to do both now and short block later if you have to stage it.
