Hey guys, recently bought a SHO that I may be parting out depending on how much I can find a transmission for.... N E ways, this car came with a Custom sound system, all professionally installed, and It came with these kicker panels I've never seen before.. They are custom made Mocha colored speaker panels that sit on the floor on the passenger and driver side front floors... sound amazing too..... anyone know how much they charge to make these, or where it can be done at... would love to get some done to my camaro.

Thanks

Tom

You'll probably have to check with a custom car audio installer. I would think no more than a couple hundred bucks without speakers

*edit* got pics??

Check crutchfield, as they often stock Q-Logic "Q-forms" enclosures that take very little work to sound good. They will usually cost between $140 and $200, depending on the model year of your car. Otherwise, you can have them custom made from MDF and fiberglass at most professional car audio shops for a similar fee (or more).

Q-Forms are usually pretty flimsy. Custom pods will run a couple hundred bucks to have made. Or you can try making them yourself.

I think the q forms for the taurus will only house a 5.25 speaker too. You could always reinforce the qforms.

Hence my statement that they would take a little work to sound good. I wouldn't put a set of q-forms in without making some sort of backing and sealing the enclosure. You still have to figure out what to do with the e-brake.

WOW... the rest of the car looks like God himself took a shit on it... but the kick panels (pending new speakers and a respray) could look OK.

It is an hcca... and orion subs, clarion deck, and there is a cadence box of somesorts underneath the subs... don't know if it's an equalizer or what, also has 2 crossovers, and that chimney is a port hole for the subs into the car.

I've got the amp up for sale locally.... do you know what they're worth?

Thanks

I don't know how big that HCCA is, so I wouldn't know. I can tell you that they are competition amps. They're in demand because they put out huge power. It could be worth anywhere from $200-400 even though the equipment is really old.

They're used for competitions because they're rated for low power and can get into lower power brackets. For example an HCCA amp might be rated at 100 watts rms @ 4 ohms, so it will be able to compete in a 100 watt or less bracket. At 1 ohm it might be capable of putting out 800 watts. That's why some people call them cheater amps.

there is a cadence z800 ultra drive with it, as well as a 40I Fosgate Punch, and in the trunk separtely not hooked up I found a US Amps 100 Says hand made in florida on it. It also came with a pro audio clarion deck, and the hcca. Are these all competition style amps?

I don't know a whole lot about Cadence. Some people swear by them, so it's probably worth something.

I'm not big fan of Rockford amps, but that amp was made back when Rockford Fosgate was making better quality amps. Their quality has dropped since then.

US Amps makes nice competition amps. I don't know if yours is or not. If it has an "HC" in the model number then I know that you have something that's worth something. I'm sure it's a nice amp though.

I swear by Cadence amps. I have one 300Wrms cadence single channel amp driving a 10W3 in my wife's car, and it makes my chest bleed. I plan on getting a second amp, bridging them, and having it drive the other 10W3 in my wife's car (speakers were the wrong impedance for one amp to drive both subs).

I ended up getting mine off a guy that were still brand new and black for my '92. Didn't pay much as he was just parting out the car too. Less than $40.00 if memory serves right. I slapped in some Pioneer speakers and they sound sweet. The E-brake is not able to go more than 2-3 clicks down and the wife complains about not enough foot room on the passenger side. But, the SHO stays in the garage and is hardly ever driven anyway. At least they look cool and sound good to me. Good luck with them. ****....
