Hey everyone, I've been looking for pictures of the EPP intake before installation and trying to see if anyone has made a custom intake before. I have a friend who's learning to weld and fabricate parts right now and he told me he needed "practice" so I'm trying to see how much of a PITA it would be to make one. I don't really have any expectations going into this so if it turns out to be garbage I'll live, but if he can actually make a good intake for less than the $660 they charge now I think that would be pretty cool. Im looking for any and all information I would need, I found a diagram on their website where they talk about some dimensions but don't get too specific. Any and all help/information/PICTURES would be greatly appreciated, especially if anyone has any threads or can get me connected with anyone who has done something similar before.

Check YouTube for their videos. As far as exact measurements, I doubt you will find those. Can you be without your car for awhile? Best bet would be trying to copy the stock pipes with them off the vehicle. Even better if the vehicle can be there for test fitments. Getting the angles is going to be the hardest part without the vehicle and/or pipes there to copy.

I can't be without my car for more than a day right now but he has a lift with all the tools you'd need to do literally anything, at least anything I would understand. He's not far and they're usually messing around with something on the lift every weekend so I could make that work, wont be quicker but it would be easier. I was hoping someone had an EPP intake or something similar, maybe if they had some pictures (or for some reason had it out of the car) I could bug them for dimensions/a reference picture. Is the EPP intake the same as the stock one just with two different pipes running to the turbos instead of one? Im looking for something more akin to that and less of a "stock but not plastic" type deal

It does run separately. The biggest issue becomes I can tell you I have an 18" long 1 3/4" tube with a 90* bend on one end and a 70* bend on the other end but, you are going to need more information. Is the tube straight other than those 2 bends, is the 90* offset 25* of 55* or XX* from the 70* bend? By taking the plastic intake off and looking at their videos, you should be able to get your bends and orientation. You will also need a stock of clamps and couplers as well as the rubber adapters or see if you can make metal versions. For example, the rear turbo hose is a 90* with I believe 2 different size ends. It is certainly a doable project but, the fastest and easiest way is going to be pulling the part off with the car right there and making a replacement part. Use the video to give you an idea and the plastic to confirm. The video will also allow you to see how they eliminated the y-pipe and use individual pipes. Unfortunately, stuff like turbo pipes, intake pipes, exhaust, etc. is best down in person on a case by case unless you have jigs and are replicating with the jig.

EPP also sells the rear turbo hose if you want to buy that and build the rest. If you are doing hot pipes also, they sell the front turbo to intercooler hose. They also sell the dual intake filter. It is a K&N product and getting those measurements and finding a match will be a lot easier.

Dude, i you check amazon and ebay- I just the other day bought several kits for like $130. You can find decently usable partstuff for pretty cheap if you search long enough. Gonna experiment this weekend. 600? Nope, I can produce something way cheaper than that.

yes I intend to have 2 completely different style intake tracks for each turnbo. I'm curious.
