Custom Colored SHO

Those last yellow Tauri & Sable are Bob Bondurant School of driving instructor cars. As stated in that post, those pics were taken in 1995. All of them have been retired at this point. FPS has most of the engines that came out of them. There are only four full cars remaining. Mike Caney either does own or used to own two of them. Last I heard they were up on ebay. Don't know if he sold them or not. If I had the dough at the time, I would have bought the Sable. For more info, click here.

All i saw was the front from the street. When I saw the back, I got really confused, i talked to the dealer, and he popped the hood for me. It ended up having a SHO engine, and many other accessories in a sable, very unique, they were asking 5,500, i guess since it was a custom job. The dealer said the guy that did the engine/all other component swap was Joe Hatcher... anyone heard of him? actually another 'SHable'...

Was it a two-toned Sable/SHO? Red and some other darker color red, I believe.

I think the yellow looks pretty good also. There is a yellow Gen 1 rollin around here, but looks ugly because the nose is blue and then turns into scallops. I would just keep the stock color, but enhance it. I am going to go with the stock color and throw some bigger flake in it. I may go just a tad darker or lighter, i haven't decided yet. Oh yea and go with neons lots of neons. Then, post pictures and join in with me on getting flamed and called a ricer for my own personal liking. Sound like fun?

THATS THE ONE!!! and to think i touched a true legend SHO... I wish i had looked more intently at the car, but as it was i was almost late for work when I stopped by. Glad to know its in Roanoke. I wanta get in touch with Joe Hatcher, I heard he has many SHOs, maybe he could SHOw me some tricks for the SHO... does he use the forum, does anyone know?

I had also toyed with the idea of painting my '89 bright yellow last year.... Of course, when the time came, Black paint was much easier on the wallet( cost of paint, and not as much risk of getting pulled over ).


Of course, picking the right yellow is also tough. You don't want it to look like a schoolbus, or even worse, a damn Taxi headbang

I have been thinking about painting the white 93 that cadillac pearl that is on the escalades....opinions??? also I bet that paint is EXPENSIVE...so if there are any body shop guys that know how much it costs..lemme know!

I think the white pearl would look awesome. I have it on my svx, and I am always wishing my taurus was the same color. I say go for it, if you can afford it, because I've also heard that paint is quite spendy.

A friend of mine's Civic is painted the Cadillac pearl white. I don't think he paid that much for the paint and I think he used PPG.

YellowSHO, your car looks great. What car manufacturer is that yellow from?

Ford. It is called Chrome yellow, and sometimes Canary yellow. It was used on a few 93 Mustang conv. and lots of 94 and newer Mustangs. I think it is the same color on the Escape also.

I wish I had a buck for every time I heard a taxi comment. Or schoolbus, banana, and lemon (though sometimes I agree, it is an SHO).

Ive never seen a gold SHO... definately bling bling... i also think a graphite SHO would be neat looking. A bright Orange With a black stripe or somethin would also be very unique (remeniscent of the dukes of hazard).

My car in a few months will look quite different. Its silver frost now, and looks great, but i want it to look NEW. I will be having it painted silver frost with a touch light purple metallic. This will create a metallic tint and purple hue to the car when its in the correct lighting. Also will be sporting a set of 18" TD motorsport rims and a few other yet to be seen cosmetic mods. The car is SOO healthy that i am going to concentrate on the appearance of it this summer ( quaife and tranny being done along with another 60k) and then focus on the motor , forced induction at a later date.

My f150 lightning will be enough to feed the speed hunger until 2005

damn those are both nice clean shos. ive never thought a SHO would look good in yellow till now. and the chameleon looks good too. too bad for me my titanium paint is peeling everywhere : (

I have always wanted to paint my SHO moonlight blue with a silver or pearl haze added to give it a different kind of effect at different angles!!
