cruise control

my stupid cruis went out today on the highway...i i tried to set it but it didnt do anything, could it be a fuse or is the relay(or whatever u call it) bad? I CANT LIVE W/OUT CRUISE, I GET TOO MANY TICKETS WITHOUT IT!

What year car do you have...is it electronic or vacuum cruse? Start from there.

I see from your sig that you have an ATX so you have an electronic cruise system (no vaccum lines). Your problem could be bad switches, failed servo, failed disconnector switch or a bad clockspring as well as several other things.

A frequent poster named STEVE submitted step by step checks some months back. Look for his name and do a search of his posts. Good luck and let us know your results

now my dang turn signals and brakelights dont work, we checked the fuses. WHAT IS WRONG? im only 17 im not the best with electrical systems.....should i just take it to my mechanic?

If there's an open in the circuits described, that could be messing with your cruise. You got any snow, cold, or wet weather going on now?

How about your horn. If it is not working as well it is probably due to a bad clockspring.

ya its snowy and cold as heck here.....ill read ur ling and see if i can fix her up, the horn works fine......i use it all the time

Bizzy, how hard is it to get to the mulfi-function switch? Do you need a steering wheel puller to remove the wheel? I think thats the culprit for mine, as the cruise quit working in mine as well, and the blinkers work sometimes, but sometimes wont work if the tilt is all the way down..?
