any ideas??

what year models will work with others? will a regular taurus servo and module work?

well, I probably can't be of much help.. but I also have a 95 ATX, and I always thought my cruise control was broken. however, it works when I hit the buttons repeatedly. it's kind of a works-when-it-feels-like-it issue, I'm not sure if yours is the same way.

I'm not sure about the other years, but you must get the electronic module, as the MTX SHO's had vacuum operated cruise.

The cruise and horn buttons run thru the same electrial ring around the steering wheel, so they share a circuit. The buttons on the cruise are built to where you can only push one at a time.
I'm not sure if the air bag also shares circuits or not, but I'd guess not.

Quit pressing both buttons at the same time. You'll further mess stuff up.

Both the ATX and MTX use vacuum to operate the servo. However, the modules etc are not interchangeable.

If you have an ATX, you should be able to use a module from any other comparably equipped Taurus. Heck, I had a module from a JY Taurus running the CC in my old 93 Explorer for 4-5 years. Check with the junkyard for an interchange listing.

Unless you have already diagnosed the actual problem with the CC system, I wouldn't bother swapping parts without a plan. The diagnostic in the service manual would be a good place to start.
