Cruise Control cable???

My little black ribbed end broke off the end of my cruise control cable....I was wondering if I need to replace the whole cable or just that part??? Does anyone know this or had this happen and do you know the part number. If it is the whole cable then how hard is it to replace.....I'm driving from NY to GA next week and would like to have the cruise. headbang
