Before I installed the long subframe connectors, the car was very quiet. After installation, a
creaking / groaning has appeared, along with a vibration of some sort which seems to change the
exhaust note. What could cause this? I love how the car seems to be much tighter and corner better,
but I can't stand all of the noise. 95 mtx - stock

Look for any exhaust hangers that would be close but not touching the SFC.. I had one that was near the SFC, and figured it would be wrong.. Boy was I wrong.. VERY loud vibration and annoying on braking, accelearting, cornering.. My ATX problem was the hanger near the drivers rear tire.. once I bumped it up a bit no problems.

poissonverte,

thanks, I'll look there again. Last night when i looked, there appeared to be about one-half inch of clearance.

Did you change out the endlinks.....and the sway bar bushings....
This is the exact reason I left Snowwind's original 2 years ago..Getting ready for retirement, when I had the brakes totally redone, I wanted suspension replaced...it was a no go for complete set of OEM parts.
Therefore, I live with the aging noise..
If any part of the subframe is newly connected or bushed, all the bushings will need to be also. The vibration may have been there before, but the car had an "equilibrium" it had worked out, now it is straining to keep up with the improved part.
I could be way off......but that is what a suspension specialist of 43 years explained to me in graphic detail 2 years ago.
ONCE is not enough in this case eek!

Yeah, that 1/2 inch clearance is probably your problem.. I thought my clearance was enough too, but nope.. fooled me.. I just unhooked the metal ****** ,thats attached to the exhaust pipe, out of the rubber donut(sp) and rested it on top of the rubber donut(sp).

Poissonnverte,
That exhaust hanger was definitely the problem. I did what you did and it fine.
thanks
