I am currently stripping the engine now off my 3.0.. right now i got off the transmission flywheel and all but i cant seem to get off the crank pulley off the front of the engine. i tried to put some bolts in the flywheel side of the engine and use a bar for someoen to hold then i tried to loosen the bolt on the front for the pulley and no result it just turns out im lifting the engine on the lift i got it hanging from not loosen the bolt... any ideas?
id really rather not put the mtx back on and try and crank on the bolt that way... but im up for ideas. i need the pulley for my atx to mtx swap.. thanks

You're supposed to take that off while you have the flywheel on still, so you can rest a breaker bar against the frame with the socket over the crank bolt. Then when you click the starter, the breaker torques on the frame forcing the crank bolt loose. Now you will have to figure out a way to keep the crank pulley stationary so you can remove the bolt with an impact. There has got to be somebody who has figured out a way to do this or has done it before. Let's just hope they read this thread and can help you out. Good luck man.

half-way there, I think.
If you have a compressor, a really nice impact gun does wonders. I finally broke down and bought one that has 600 ft/lbs in reverse. So far I've removed 2 crank bolts and 4 steering rack nuts with little to no effort on my part. Can't believe I didn't buy one years ago...

Yea I pulled mine off with the engine out of the car... I just used an impact gun and sat there for literally 40 minutes pouring liquid wrench over the bolt while using the gun itself to break it loose.

Another thing u can try (before you spray WD-40 or anything) is heat... If you have a propane torch handy, try heating the pulley (not bolt). The heat will expand the pulley and help break the bolt loose. Doing this in conjunction with the impact wrench is what hepled me before as well.
