Hey guys... I'm gettin' my '90 White SHO tomarrow, and I'm couldn't be more psyched. Now, onto the important stuff. First, tints. Is the only way to tint your windows with that film? Is that the way most people do it? Second, what is the name of that little spoiler that you see on gen I and IIs. It comes about 2-3 inches off the trunk, is held onto the trunk with two little pieces in the middle of the spoiler, and sort of curves down on each end. Sorry I can't explain it very well, maybe you guys know what I'm talking about. Thanks.

Usuall use the film for tinting. A proffessional shop can do it and it is usually warrantied. As for the spoiler.....the only spoiler that came on some gen I (91+ model) and some Gen II (93-95) does not lift off of the trunck at all. It is really more of an accentuation. Look at some pics here and you will see what I mean. You can probably get an aftermarket spoiler that fits your description, but nothing stock. If you want to do the stock spoiler you would need to get one form the 91+ as they are gen specific. Also, the 91+ spoilers are hard to come by.

Good luck with it

Hmmm, I see, thanks. I've noticed an SHO down the street has the spoiler I want. Maybe I'll take a pic of it and post it, and hopefully someone knows what it is. Thanks again.

This is sort of the spoiler. That type of thing... anybody know the one for the SHO?

Wings West sells a "stock" replacement spoiler...I believe you can order it with or without the brake light...please order one of these instead of that hideous excuse for an aero part!

Fried Rice Fried Rice!

Don't put a big wing and let everyone know what we drive. We have nice insurance friendly sleepers. There is nothing like seeing the look on someone's face when they see a grocery getter pull away from them.

Heh. Thats not a big ricey wing. Its about 3" off the top of it. In absolutely no way is that ricey. Sdpatt, thanks for your comment. Its obvious that you are very helpful and courteous.

That isn't the wing I want. The one I want is smaller and not nearly as bulky. But how is that one POSSIBLY rice?? Its not big, showy, or (completely) useless.

On a front wheel drive car that rear spoiler is useless for everthing but displaying personal taste.

A spoiler regaurdless of FWD or RWD will hold the back end down.

Also, today I saw the saddest thing. A SVT contour with an indy car type wing, it was bigger than the trunk lid.

Ummm... You *might* wanna retract that statement. Scott is one of the most knowledgeable posters on this forum. And yes, a 5" tall spoiler is ricey, we don't drive supras. You want ricey, do it, don't let other people make decisions for you, just be prepared for the humiliation. wink

I would recommend going with a factory spoiler. You can find them on ebay or a parts car. Anything beyond that sends a becon out to cops plus does nothing for performance.

Factory spoiler it is. Will a Gen II spoiler fit on a Gen I?
