Okay, I've been thinking about this for a while. And when I read the SHO Bros site where they sell the VSS, I think everything's coming together. Says this on there:
When it fails, the vehicle typically slams out of overdrive as it is slowing to a stop, cruise control may work poorly, or not at all, and steering may feel like it is constantly going from firm to soft.
Well, first off when I'm slowing down there is a hard shift, usually after I've been cruising at a steady speed for a while. Secondly, I have no cruise control at all, the buttons do nothing. Also I have no ABS either, which makes Florida rain with my well worn tires just a fun little roller coaster ride
And sometimes when I turn the steering resistance gets really bad, to the point where i have to get both hands on one side of the wheel and pull. It's not like my old VW with no power steering, but it does resist plenty, other times it's soft as.. well, a Ford. Does this sound like the problem? And if it is, is there anyway way to test it or these? All the info I can get on it would be nice
Thanks folks!
