You sure it's the fan? The ECT can play games with the fan, and so can the ICRM/CCRM (Constant Control Relay Module).

Does the fan go on when the A/C is on? Have you tried applying B+ to the fan directly to see if it runs?

I had the same thing happen..From Ford it's close to $200...I went to an electrical shop and bought replacement "brushes" for $8...It is'nt that hard to rebuild. You need 4 "brushes". PM me if your interested in this idea....

its not a sensor, when i turn the a/c on, no fan, i had to hit it for it to come on, i had the same problem less then 5 months ago and mechanic checked everything, said it was the fan motor, put a used fan in it, worked good but now its dead and i don't want to have to open the hood in middle of traffic everytime to turn fan on :nut:

mine died this winter ...... didn't notice until the weather got warm ....... solution was to rebuild motor ..... take the motor to a shop that specializes in electric motors ...... or do it yourself ....... much less costly than OEM replacement
