My 95 ATX developed a collent leak, just recently. One line that is deffinately leaking is a line that is a hose, coming from the thermostat housing, that then is fitted with a metal line that curves around the back if the engine. My BIG 1995 Ford Service manual doesn't have COOLING system as a chapter. Go figure ! I thought it might be a line for the heater core, but..in online catalogs, I don't see this hose->metal line thingy. What IS it ? Where can I GET it ?

I have one. It's kinda crusty. In the past,I have just cut off the hose to pipe fitting and used a clamp.

Even if you could get it (im not sure if you can), I have a relatively simple fix for you.

I was able to remove the rubber hose, the fitting, and modify (going on fuzzy memory here....) the metal tube to accept a standard hose and clamp.

Total cost was less than $5, and it took less than an hour.

The formed portion of the heater hoses are still availble. You can get then from Fastpartsnetwork and other places. You would use bulk hose for the straight portions.

take the dremel tool to the metal band clamp that is holding the now really old hose to the metal pipe section, and trim the aluminum band off. There will be hose below it and then steel pipe. Once you trim down to the rubber you have gone far enough and should be able to take the band and hose off the metal pipe and replace with a standard cut to fit hose with a normal worm drive clamp.

Well,

That sounds hopefull.

To be honest, this was the final straw. Or I should say the final leak! I have to redo the valve cover gaskets/plug seals. The oil pan gasket and rod bearings. and now ...this. I parked the car. This may take awhile. Good thing I have a dependable Jeep Wrangler to drive in the mean time.
