Hello guys,
I have a 3rd generation sho, 3.4l V8, am having a major coolant leak problem and in need of some help finding some parts.
Thought i would jump on the forums and ask for some help.
Two days ago i went to pick up my father from the train station and i came home and my car was leaking.....Alot. At first we thought it was oil, and maybe a gasket blew on one of my heads or something, but we soon found out it was coolant. where the coolant is leaking, from a gasket that connects to the water pump, from the block right under the fuel rail.
i have a picture with all of the part numbers from ford, but cannot seem to figure how to attach it as it is a file on my computer, but here are the ford part numbers. the parts i am looking to replace is
8k540 X2 - two old o-rings i want to replace just to be sure.
8590 Where the main leak is coming from, gasket is blown (one i was just taking about, attached to the block)
8548 a rubber hose within the water pump assembly that broke due to being 20 years old and brittle.
and another thing i would like to replace is the upper rad hose.

I have called multiple ford dealers and asked for them to look in ther database, all of the parts are discontinued.
i also called napa and all local parts stores and they dont even list a head gasket set for the 3rd gens.
i am going to do soem research, but IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE I CAN FIND PARTS....PLEASE HELP ME OUT.

if i am unable to find parts, i am going to have to try and jarry rig it, with silicone. and if that cant hold. then i guess i will have to part out my car..... so any help would be amazing.
thanks.

I don't have any of the specific part numbers available but when I am in jamb I know some of the parts people at the local ford dealers and they will give me the full ford part number and then I can scour the web with accurate(ish) part numbers to try and locate new old stock. Ebay works sometimes and greensalescompany.com is also good for discontinued old stock. Sometimes a good google search with the part number pulls something up. Try joining the v8sho mailing list to spread the net among the community http://www.v8sho.com/SHO/sublist.html

You need the ford part numbers to cross ref effectively

You might consider contacting Ford Performance Specialists in Georgia. Maybe they can track down parts for you.

RockAuto carries the Thermostat Seal. Apparently a common part made by Stant, Gates, etc.

If I understand correctly you are concerned with the O-Rings of the water pump housing that connects to the heads (Front and Rear). These are standard O-Rings that you can get from any auto part store. They more than likely will come in a kit with multiple sizes, you may have to eyeball the right one.. If you can find the measurements (I don't have them off hand) you can get replacements from McMaster-Carr. That's where I have source many of my parts, probably want one's that will support temp ranges above 240°F. If you can get the size I could recommend one from there.
