My 99' has about 72K on the clock, half of which was put on by me. I'm not sure about the previous owner, but I've never had the coolant system flushed. If I were to get this service done at this point do you think it would stir up a bunch of crap in the system, or does the BG service do a pretty good job?

You can do it yourself, and while you are at it replace the coolant tank. The factory ones are known to have the sensor go bad and crack at the bottom. ew one is like 30 bucks on ebay.

It is very easy to flush the system.

It is very important with an aluminum engine, radiator and heater core to flush the coolant at least every 2 years.

Easy to do at home. Use the hose that is teed into the lower radiator hose on the passenger side to drain the system. Don't even have to take the plastic apron off.
