I have read a bunch of the threads on what NORMAL temperature is while running and I really don't have as much of a concern now, but here is my issue. I have a 95 MXT that the temperature gauge always would hang out around the "L" (my 92 MXT was the same Summer or Winter didnt matter), but I am now noticing the temperature gauge rises on my commute back home up to "R" and then sometimes pass "O". This is the hottest part of the day and the AC is on. If I turn off the AC the system then can and will regulate back to the "L" range of the gauge.

I just got a new complete AC system put into the car which I originally thought was the problem since the old compressor was acting up, figure it was causing excessive load on engine therefore cause higher temperature. New system does the same...

The other issue I had 2 months ago was my coolant fan locked up causing the motor to melt to the fan. The long painful search to get a new fan for this car I found that the 3.8 Taurus has the same fan shroud, # fan blades, not sure about the motor but it does have the same numbers of wires so all I had to do is put the old plug onto it. The best part was it was $117 brand new without the normal SHO price tag.

The 95 SHO fan motor is different by part number than other Tauri so could the fan motor if undersized and not putting out the same SCFM air flow that the original setup did, cause the system to not be able to maintain a lower temperature with the AC on??

From what I read it sounds like this really isn't anything to worry about, right??

Any insight would be helpfull, thanks.

My 94 runs between the M and A on a 70 degree day. However when we had the HOT spell "90+" and with the AC running it would hover aroung the "O". From what I understand the temp guage has a 15 degree swing from the "L" to the "N". Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I know my fans without the AC running kick in at the "R" and turn off at the "A".

For your other question. A different fan motor might spin at a different RPM causing the CFM to decrease.

I don't think there is much concern but you might want to put a manual temp guage in just to see what the real temp is.

Hope this helps.
