I figured since I told mostly NESHO I was going to be there and what not that I'd post this in here. I don't think I'm going to be able to make it this year. After thinking about it long and hard (My head still hurts) I'm thinking (Ouch) I may have to opt out of it this year. With all the stuff my SHO needs (Tires, Tranny Mount, Motor Mounts, New Rotors, etc etc ) that I would like to get done before the convention as to not compromise the cars driving condition for such a long drive, plus a road course event. That's some costly stuff right there and right away dips far in to my savings for the convention. Plus, With Ashley loosing hours more and more each week I may have to start throwing some extra money aside for necessity's.

I've already looked in to Flying out there just to be there - From what I've seen it's going to cost MORE to fly out there then to drive. One round trip ticket is more then half of my gas and hotel. Finially, There is the issue of my Job. Why they certainly can not Deny me leave, They don't have to make things any easier on me if I want to take it. I've been taking a lot of time off lately between Carlisle, Going back to CA, Moving in to our house...etc etc and they are kind of getting annoyed. It doesn't help that one of my co-workers is now a Prego rendering her Useless, So a lot of slack has to be picked up especially during the busy months of the summer. Things are getting hectic.

I understand the Significance of this years Convention and I would like to thank you guy's for putting on whats certainly going to be one **** of a show this year. With that said, Depending if I'm back from my deployment or not in time, I'll see you folks at Carlisle.

I may have a spare tranny mount you can have, I'd have to check. If I can drive my car up there then you can too! Trust me.

You can't bum a ride from anyone? It doesn't matter what you brung, it's that you're there. Did you know Spirit Airlines flies from Myrtle Beach to Boston direct? Buy now for either a late Sunday or Monday night flight and an early return on Friday or Saturday, it's $69 each way...

C'mon....

When is the convention? I'm driving to Florida sometime soon and I can give you a one way ride, either to the convention or bring you back.

Ok, So - We went over the numbers for me driving out there and what not.

If I Don't do a few activities at the convention, I would be pretty well off. If I just fly out there, Again - I would be well off.

The thing is tho, I planning on a relaxing summer - With plenty of money set aside in the bank so if something does pop up I don't have to worry about it. I know what an event this convention is going to be, On the 20th aniv. of the SHO and I know that I will regret not going - But that's life. I had been planning on not going for pretty much the last year anyways because of my deployment schedule being flipped around. In my opinion something like the Convention is not exactly something to just decide to go to with nearly less the a month out.

Again, I want to thank all of you who have offered your help.

To any coming through NC on there way up to New Hampshire, You have a place to stay - I'll even provide the beer.

Next year will be different and certainly after 6 months in the Desert I'll have plenty set aside, Specifically for such events as the convention.

I feel your pain Sam. I'd love to go to one, however, I'm still waiting for one to take place remotely near me.

Sam, how much is it to fly into NYC from where you are?

If it's substantially less than flying into the woods in NH, you can ride up with me and the NYC crew.

If anyone is passing through NE, give me shout. I'll throw that out there since more than the NESHO section is looking at this.

Im only 3+ hours from NH, but if anyone is pulling an all nighter driving cross country and needs a night to rest , I can accomodate 1-2 people. I located in southern connecticut so it may be out of the way for midwest travelers but if could save you a night of lodging

The organizers usually don't announce it until the end of the convention. If you miss one that is only a day of driving away, you more than likely won't go to one that is more than a day away. I dragged a 40' trailer from Phoenix to San Francisco for the 04 Convention and a flatbed buggy hauler for the 08 Convention in Seattle. You can do it. The friends you make and the cars you see are well worth it.
