Steve it looks like Nimz is leaving Sunday.
Ryan, Tony and I are leaving Sat morning. There's a thread on Shocago.com, Tim is going also just not sure if he's leaving with us.
Ryan is driving a SHO there and won't have family so I was thinking about leaving 4 am and doing it in one day, get there about 5 pm. I WAS thinking of meeting up with the St. Louis caravan for the night but Nashville is out of the way, we will cross paths in Knoxville so maybe we'll head there and meet up with you there Sunday morning. Nothing set in stone yet with works hours, something will fall off the Dons car again, maybe we'll just go out of the way a bit and do Nashville, not sure yet.

Who's staying where when? I have Mon, Wed, and Thurs night booked at the host hotel and a room at VIR on Tues., but I hear some may be staying near the drags. What's everyone doing?

I'm booked for the week at the host hotel. Jeff booked a room at VIR. I'm thinking I'll end up going back to the host hotel after VIR and head to the drags whenever. Theres no drivers meeting and if I show up a little late I wont miss much.

I am arriving Sunday mid-day with the CTS-V Wagon provided it is not raining. I will spend the day and part of the evening at the host hotel. I will drive back to Fayetteville Sunday night and return early Monday with my 1992 Taurus ex-police car. That is the car that will in be in the Car SHOw. Plan on spending the rest of the week at the host hotel. No problem getting up early for the drive to VIR although I would suggest a route that avoids the I 85/40 stretch between Greensboro & Raleigh. In the morning it gets quite crowed.

I'm headed down Sunday morning from either home or Hazard KY (KY as of now, but it's already changed twice). If I leave from home, it's 10-11 hours with stops, so no official caravan, just drive. Back to either KY or MI on Friday.

I may just cancel my room at VIR and see if I can split the cost of a room with someone if I decide to stay up there one night.

I'm driving up there Wednesday morning. Tuesday night will be quiet in Charlotte anyway, so I'll just get up early, and not hassle with moving crap to another room. I don't like having any more stuff in the car for a track day beyond what I need.

Some are then staying the nexct night near the dragstrip. I'm headed back to Charlotte. If it's rainy, we will do VIR anyway, but not the drags.

Driving doesn't bother me. Shuffling crap between hotels does. Personally, that's why I found the '00 Convention drive-around-Indiana to be a PITA.

I don't like the idea of shuffling crap around either or paying for 2 rooms or checking in for one night, then out, then back in.....just afraid I might miss something the night before the track Tues., lol. Then again, I'm not driving, so I could probably bum a ride up with someone to VIR Wed. and then back to Charlotte that night.

Kirk is trailering so he's taking my wheels(just got my Nurburgrings in today, woohoo) with him. Makes it easy to move my stuff. Since I'm staying at VIR(still not booked) Tuesday night, it would be easy for me to go to Rockingham for Wednesday night...

That's only reason why I didn't go to that one, didn't want to spend 4 days driving all over and checking in and out of hotels every day on top of the 10 hr or so drive there and then back. Hope there's never another like that.

Driving doesn't bother me either, but the thought of starting the track day tired after a 3 hour drive to get there and then working my way towards exhausted over the course of the day does. In my case, I'm keeping the room at the host hotel Tuesday night just to keep all my crap in it while at VIR.

I think what I may do (if my brother and/or wife don't wind up coming) is just keep my room at the host hotel, cancel my VIR room, and if I decide to go; I have a roommate lined up to split the cost of the room at the track, since he already has a room booked there. Again, don't wanna miss out on any fun, but I'm in no big hurry to be at the track on Wed. since I'm not driving. I guess closer to time I'll see what everyone else winds up doing. Don't wanna be stuck at the host hotel alone while everyone is gone Tues. night either, lol.

Tim, Ryan and I are meeting at the Lincoln oasis @ 4:30 am Sunday. Heading East 94then south on 65 where we should meet up with Paul. Blast through Indy at about 118 mph and try to hook up with Mike and Heather along the way or in Lexington. Depending on James and crew and how well they empty the cooler on their first night of "Who gives a crap about my liver for one week tour 2011" we could catch up with them if they stop for flapjacks and caffine.

What's your ETA for Remington IN on I65 Sunday morning?
