Just so you know, this year it is basically a DEARBORN convention, and we are staying out of downtown Detroit except for the friday tour of the hockey arena downtown that my son will host, he is a huge Detroit Redwings hockey fan (did I get the club name right?). We will party and eat in the suburbs and on Fords property, all pretty upscale and the roads are generally in very good shape.

I was in Dearborn in '95. I don't think I set foot in Detroit.

Some of us have used Beer and Coffee.

P.S. How many cases of Yuengling Lager do I need to bring this year???
:salute:

Brian, if it's not too much trouble I'll take 2 or 3 cases.

Also, if anyone from the southeast wants to bring me a case of Sweetwater, I'd be forever grateful.

If they finish repaving Michigan Ave in Dearborn before the convention, maybe. Right now it's a bit of a mess and down to one lane on each side.

We noticed that mess, and it is still a passable road. Will hopefully be done by then. Telegraph road is another under full construction. Our Wed night dinner on the way back from the track is at a restaurant that said the portion of Telegraph road in front of their place should be done by then, but was in full construction when we visited, and still it wasn't hard to get in and out of. This restaurant is NOT to be missed. Not super expensive but a bit on the high side of what I normally pick. The food/service and attitude was such that it is worth a few (not many) extra bucks for a top quality experience! I suspect that no matter where we could have gone this year, we would run into road construction, so we didn't even blink on this one!
