I'd like to know some of the general rules associated with the classes in the car show.

Does the Car have to COMPLETELY factory original to be judged in the "stock" class, specifically including wheels/slicers?

I was moved into the "modified" class last your and I assume it was because of the Cobra Replica wheels and giant tires... is this indeed why?

TIA!

If you have things that are not stock they will be deductions in the stock class. With that said you will score better in the modified class, that simple.
The SHOw will be in the morning I'm sure, some people are out by 6am re-cleaning.

You will get all the info when you arrive..

But anywhere from 7am to 8am and will be done when we are done judgeing.

Chris, Stock is stock.. Cobra wheels did not come on your car. We do allow things like 96 brake up grades and things like that.. but if you have a painted intake then its not stock.

Thats why the judges are who they are.. we Know the cars better than anyone.. Trying to hide that 3.2 swap will not work either :) Unless like my freind from CAN that machined out a 3.0 and fitted it with 3.2 pistons.. that was sneaky but good!!!!

Every car starts out with 200pts and goes down, we do adjust for milage.. IE you have a super clean 200k mile car with minor scratches you will do better than a 20k car with the same amount.

Its a great time and real easy to get an award, just clean the car and put it in the right class.

Funny Story.. Ryan P came to me about his awesome 89, said hey come look at how clean this baby is.. Big smile and super proud! he did a fantastic job on the car.. But I had to mess with him, I stuck my fingers into the hood latch hole and bam all dirty.. he called me some choice words still with the big smile.. 2 years ago it came down to who cleaned the back side of the battery...

Hope your not talking about me. If so your still shocked that a itty bitty 3.0 ran with you. LOL I do have a bored out 3.0 in the garage with a few goodies but I don't know if I am going to get it in before the Convention.

plato,

You got most of your answers, but just to be sure: Stock is stock. Any change from stock is a deduction. Maintenance is OK, stock replacement parts are OK, non-stock parts Ok if a Ford or OEM replacement part isn't available. Bling, custom wheels, covers over interior parts etc. all get a deduction, but there is a limit on the deductions per area of car.

We recommend that if you aren't totally stock or maybe with just one or two minor things, that you go into the modified class where mods aren't deducted for, just condition/cleanliness.

The SHOw runs usually from 7 or 8am to about 10:30. We are going to have it short if possible because there is so much neat stuff to do at Ford World Headquarters and lunch with Ford this year on that day, along with the proving grounds tour.

IF being "stock" is important then show in that class, but just understand you may lose points and get a lower award than you would in modified class.

We do it this way to reward those that keep their cars factory stock appearing, not quite as obsessive as a Survivor car in the Corvette world, but keeping a few cars stock helps preserve the history of the car.

See you in Dearborn!
