Hello All,
Well I have been continuing to diagnose my problem with my Maroon 91 SHO Plus and once again I am stuck. I grounded the EEC-IV Test connector because I was getting no fuel. The fuel-pump engaged however the car will still not start. I checked for spark and I am getting a strong spark. I also checked for fuel pressure at the fuel rail which I also have. So I decided to put a little bit of starting fluid into it to see if that would help as the car has been sitting for well over 4 years. Well it will fire up with starting fluid and immediately quit again, so this leaves me with two questions. First how do I go about fixing the fuel pump issue so that I no longer have to ground my EEC-IV test connector? Second and more importantly, what should I investigate next if I have spark, fuel, and the car will start on starting fluid but immediately die again? I am assuming maybe my injectors are clogged from sitting for such an extended period. My pop though maybe it was a crank sensor. Any ideas on what to check next would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help, and I would also like to thank "projectSHO89" for his fuel pump troubleshooting page that saved me.

Later,

if it was the crank sensor, it wouldn't start, even with starter fluid. I had this problem when I stored my 92....I retimed it, dumped about a full can of starter fluid down the intake while my buddy was cranking it, and it finally caught and ran. Been runnin ever since.

Not easily.....pulled the timing belt off, put the crank and the cams at TDC and put the belt back on. You shouldn't have to do that....if the car starts with starter fluid, it may just need a little more to keep it running. You might do well to have your fuel injectors flow tested (or just rape some out of a boneyard or parts car and stick em in).
