Continued timing problems

Well to all that were following post about the 91' with the sheered exhaust cam, I got some more questions.

We replaced both exhaust cams (Just to be safe) last week, shimmed it today, and buttoned everything back up. Well, it starts! But, it it popping out of the intake.

Here is the problem. I know those cams are on right and I know the car is in time. So why is it popping out of the intake once it's started?

I know the obvious place to look is the wires and we did look there. No luck. Any guesses or for that matter, anyone that wants to say "Hey idiot! You forgot to...." is welcome.

Arrrggg, what's that they say about thinking simple? This self proclaimed "specialist" mixed up two plug wires. The engine runs fine. For the first time in two months, it moved to it's parking spot under it's own power.

they don't call is special ed. for nothing you know




The one time I mixed up wires on my SLO it made this horible poping sound. Sounded like the airfilter was gonna blow out of the aribox. Something about combustion happening while the valve was open was not good.

can u define popping ? IE as in way out of

Well I know why it was popping.... now. I had the two plugs mixed up and it was firing before the intake valve closed.
