I have a 130k 3.2 that I am prepping to drop into my SHO. I have it stripped down to the heads and the block. I was not planning on pulling the heads. However, I have an oil leak that is making me wonder the condition of the HG's. On the corner of the block where the head meets it, right above where the AC Compressor would be the HG stays moist with oil. I was getting a drip from that spot for a few days before I figured out its source. I completely cleaned it last night, leaving no spot or dampness of oil. I looked at it when I got home from work and it was wet with oil again. Nothing is wet around it, or above it. So, it must be coming from between the head and the block. I am at a loss on how this could be happening. An oil passage way (drain from the head) runs between the block and head on that corner. Is it possible for that portion of the gasket to be leaking? I don't want to pull the heads if I don't have to, however I do not want to deal with a leaky gasket once I have the motor in.

BTW - this motor is just sitting on a stand and is not full of oil, and hasn't been run in about a year. I did rotate it upside down last weekend to inspect the bottom end when I pulled the pan.

What are you thoughts?

Thanx, Doug

When in doubt, replace it. HGs are $100 from RCM for the 3.2

I think I have come to that conclusion.

But, now I am contemplating whether I want to take the heads to a machine shop and have them do the valve stem seals.

If the motor wasn't overheated do the heads need to be resurfaced? I don't want to mess with them too much because I know you can't shave much off.
