Anybody ever though of picking up a used one and retrofitting it to a SHO? The 3.2L V6 in the 3.2 CL and other Acuras is about the same size and config as the SHO. Somebody could easily Fab up some mounts and such to make it work and the tubing looks hella easy. Like a easier to make version of OFF Road SHO's setup. The kit is decently priced but all we would need is the unit itself with the jackshaft assembly.

Just might be what we were looking for. Think it over anybody who can make it happen.

I guess I didn't read the tittle very well haha.

That thing would be fun as ****. Instant power ALL THE TIME. However I doupt you'd get crap for gas milage.

we would need to get the size, length and depth of the s/c'er.... the shaft may not be long enough, or the outlet angle may be too far off....
as sour as that sounds, i really like this setup/idea.
if you look at the intake, it seems like it would line up with our fender hole, were the airbox/silencer is....

this is very intresting.... whats the price on this???

ok, checked ebay for them... 3,950... buy it now price...
not too bad...

its says that it is a screw style though.... and a gain of 40-60 hp.... at the wheels.... i mean, i know there are big boost pullies, and you could even intercool it, or aftercool it... but still... seems like the SS kit, or another way is the better way to go.. if you want more power... but i would still like this kit for an atx...

Hmm, Doug's s/c ATX kit would get more power than this then? I don't recall the price, but 4k is ok. Heck, I can't afford anything right now and my car is sick :vomit:.

The centrifugal s/c in Doug's kit (and the SS one too) and the Comptech blower are for two different purposes. You have to determine where you want the powerband.

yep.. thats why i said i would put it on a atx... i think that would make for a good competitor in the 1/4.
****, even drop it on a 3.3L..... mmmmmm... torque....
but hey... even on a mtx, i bet that would still be a blast.... if i had the cash availiable, it would be on its way right now....

with the amount of fabrication needed to modify the acura setup for the sho, the best thing to do would be to get a snout made to fit on an eaton m90, m112, or kenne bell blower and then basically copy that setup to fit the sho.

I'd rather go centrificul to screw. You think roots are "ineffiecient" and gas hogs, screws are worse.

You need to check your info bud, the screw type compressors are almost as efficient as a centrifugal compressor which are both better than roots blowers.

That is a Honda V6, most like in an Acura TL.

I agree with Tyler. You're going to spend 4000 on a kit that will still need a lot of modifying to work. Or you can buy a used blower on ebay for probably around 500 and spend the other 3500 on making it work like the Comptech kit, and still have a good chunk of change left over.

For that price I would just buy Doug's kit complete with everything you need to make the blower work right.

I am sure you would need Josh's gear set. With the roots style blower like the one shown would have bags of torque from 1500 rpm on up. I went for a back to back drive in Mustangs. One had a 9lbs whipple charger (screw type roots) and the other had a 12lbs Vortech setup both installed on 302's. I loved the one with the whipple charger. The torque was immediate and the car felt like it had a big block and was drunk with torque at any rpm. The power with the vortech was a slow build then a rush towards the end.

Your right, I got those backwards. However roots still have some advantage in ways, they can build more boost in the higher RPM's, screws are rather flat power through out the range..... Less potential. With the new intercoolers for roots, it's hard to argue with that.
