Well, my problem still exists and I am running out of ideas. My car will not idle after its been sitting in the cold for several hours or more. It will start right up and then die immediately unless I give it gas. After the initial start, it will not fire again unless I give it gas and keep foot on the accelerator to keep it running. If I do this, it will idle on its own after a minute or so but the idle pulsates between 500 and 800 RPM's until engine is at normal operating temperature, wanting to die at the low end of each pulse. Once car has reached normal temperature, there are no problems.
I thought this was the IAB so I replaced it with no results. I also put in a new TPS and ACT Sensor. Next, I bought a fuel pressure tester and fuel pressure is right where it's supposed to be. I ran a cylinder balance test which passed and KOEO passes both hard codes and memory. The only code I continue to get is a 12 during the KOER which is "Cannot control RPM during self-test high RPM check".
I have also reset the idle about 6 different times which seems to work but I can't tell since this only happens when engine is cold. I cannot set idle on a cold engine because I need to hold accelerator down to keep it running.
After trying something everyday, I wake up the next morning to see if my last nights attempt to fix it was successful, only to find out I have been shafted again.
Therefore, before I take a sledgehammer to my SHO and use the remnants in the bonfire pit I have all ready in the backyard, I was looking for any last bits of advice. Only thing I can think of is the ECM but if I buy a new ECM and that's not it, then I will have to spend the next few weeks getting even with this thing and oh yes it will pay.
Thank you,
Jeff
