Hey I'm new to this so bear with me. I have a 1995 sho with a 3.2l. Just recently I start the engine and go and it runs great. Then about 1 mile it starts to miss and stumble and if I push it backfire and another thing the tach starts going crazy. So I started babying it and after 5 minutes to get to full operating temp it all stops and runs great again. And the rest of the day. It is only in the morning I have problems. I already replaced the ECT but not the ACT, so that's next. But no useable codes either. Any thoughts would be great. Thanks Mike

Your symptoms suggest the Cam Sensor is in need of replacement. You probably have a leaking cam seal. When was the last 60k performed?

yeah ,I did that 2 years ago, because that seal was leaking so bad. But I double checked it last week. and it is totally dry.

swap the sensor. You can pull the codes to make sure but it sounds like cam sensor. When you pull it you can see if it's leaking. Long extention through the wheel well and a steady hand can get at those fasteners

Sure sounds like the cam sensor, but I'm surprised it didn't throw a code 214: CID circuit failure. By all means change the ACT if you got a code for it, but I'm not sure it will cure the problem.

It seems that everyone hear agrees that it's the cam sensor. Luckely for me I happen to have an extra one, so I'll be puttin that in tonight. And it did have a 212 code now that I think about it . Guess I shouldn't be suprised that these after market parts go out pretty quick. I just replaced that 2yrs. ago and the seal too.

ok,just to let everyone know they were right. I can't believe it. I just replaced that cam sensor 2 yrs. ago and the damn seal. No more autozone they are horrible. I have got so many parts that were bad right out of the box. Then have to argue that they are. And now if I'm lucky I get a good part and it's no good 2 yrs. later. no more
