I been searching up and down for a cold air intake cone filter for my 95 SHO ATX on ebay and other sources and keep getting results of a replacement drop in filter ...does anyone know where I can get one ???

Either make one of your own or live with the stock airbox. There are no aftermarket cone CAI options. The stock airbox is really pretty good; you'd be getting a 2-3hp gain max. It's mostly just sound.

You're going to get 4-5hp max, and it's a lot of work. The K&N panel filter is beyond useless; its only measurable effect is to let more damaging silicon into the engine, promoting bearing wear.

It definitely looks better than stock IMHO.... But, an open filter aka a hot air intake just is pointless.

And with an 80mm you will need a chip. Such as this: http://shosource.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=61_43_46&products_id=274

So I say you should send me all your money.
You ask why you would do that.
I say why not do it?
Do you send me all your money?

iirc, someone had posted a dyno curve a while back that showed no air cleaner at all only added one hp, so I doubt any aftermarket filter would add 5 hp.

The wiki page said about 6-7hp with an open TB, so it was speculated that with an optimum flowing intake set up might get you 5hp.
But to be honest, Anonymous, I would spend money in other areas instead of on an aftermarket CAI. The only reason I have mine is bc the guy who sold me my exhaust threw the CAI in with the deal.

That's what everyone is trying to tell you. Ford actually did a really good job designing the stock intake on the SHO. To put in a hot air intake (cone in the engine bay) is just pointless. You'd be taking in warmer air than with the stock intake. To put in a true cold air kit (cone in the fender) you're going to spend a lot of time and money plus a lot of work getting it installed correctly for VERY minimal gain (and that's if there IS any gain at all. You may actually LOSE HP in the end).

Stay away from the K&N drop-in filters because, as previously stated, they've been shown to let more crap in. As everyone is told in the beginning... start with MAINTENANCE. Do you know when or even IF a 60K has been done on it? Start there first, then look into suspension, 96 brake upgrade, exhaust, etc. It's pointless to throw money into power adders if the maintenance hasn't been done. That's just asking for problems. It's also silly to try to make it go faster if it handles like crap and has trouble stopping. Just my 2 cents, but there are things you should be focusing on before you try to make it faster...

Sorry if that sounded harsh. I'm not trying to flame or anything. Just don't want to see any SHO brothers (or sisters) throw money away with nothing to show for it.

Unless you have other intake mods (cams, extrude honed/ported intake, big bore butterflies, ported heads) the need for an 80mm maf is pointless on a stock sho. If you want the minimal hp increase, and the noise, just remove the silencer cone.

Remove the entire outer fender box. That has been shown to increase HP by about 1; you'll actually lose about 1hp if you just remove the silencer cone (saxacone). Two 11mm nuts hold it in; you'll need to remove the driver side wheel and splash guard to get to it.
