i searched for like 20 minutes to try to find something like it but couldnt so i made a new topic.
ok so i got my bittersweet cold air intake in the mail today.. so i take out my stock airbox, unhook maf sensor and temp. sensor.
now i got it all in there easily. but when i started my car it idled alright but then i revved it up abit (about 3500 i believe) then it made some weird whine/groan/moan sound and the rpms dropped to about 500 and it stalled (94 atx). it does this pretty much every time the rpms go past 3 grand. even driving it would want to stall sometimes but i'd just hit the gas let it go to about 2000 and then it would settle down.
so later on i put the stock airbox back on and it worked fine.. then i figured maybe it was the temp. sensor so i unhooked it and let it just sit there like it was with the CAI but it ran perfectly fine.
oh and i did unhook the battery for about 20 minutes after it was installed.. but this was after i realized it was running bad.

anyone know what could potentially be the problem? maf sensor maybe? i'm stumped

Although you may have an intake air temp sensor failing, and cleaning the MAF is always a good idea. I would start with doing an idle relearn. See what happens after that.

i dont think its the intake air temp sensor because with it unplugged the check engine light comes on and it runs worse.. when i had the cold air hooked up it had the sensor plugged in but just kinda laying on the fenderwell in the engine bay.
how do i go about doing an idle re-learn? this is the first i've heard of it

I misread your post about the Air Temp Sender, Sorry.

I would clean the MAF and reset the idle. Do a search for Idle Reset / Relearn.
