coil packs

I posted the other day about a failing coil pack on the 99.I went to the dealership and had a balance test done and #5 was dipping real low.#5 is on the passenger front,right?Thanks again!BTW my buddies dad did this for free I asked him how much that little diagnostic thing was he ran my car on:$15,000

Yes, the WDS is a very expensive piece of equipment, which is why you're not likely to find it anywhere except at a Ford dealer. Unfortunately, it's also the only way to run a cylinder balance test on our cars, so if all else has failed in diagnosing a weak coil that won't throw a code, it's the only "quick" way to pinpoint the offending coil. Well I changed the #5 coil pack,Its got a lot more pep,It still has a slight shake when ideling though,Maybe im just being picky but I dont remember it having a shake this been when we got it.

Story of my life. I change a coil and it gets better for a while than another one goes bad. I can't remember the last time the car idled as smoothly as it's supposed to.

Whereas I have yet to have a single coil pack have any problem at all, just having turned over 150K, and she idles smooth as silk. Of course, this cannot last forever...

Yeah the coil packs are the only thing on this car that have gave me problems which I am very thankful for!
