Came across this from a past post:

"You can also use the Cobra brakes as well, but it involves some sort of modification to the caliper bracket I believe. Glen Murdock has them on his Gen III SHO."

What 'is' the modification required to mount Cobra / Bullitt calipers on a GenIII? Will the stock GenIII brake hoses connect to the Cobra calipers?

And, finally, will the stock front calipers fit on the rear without modifications?

I’m guess through the process of elimination that since people put the 96 brackets and calipers on the 94-95 sho's and the 13" cobra calipers and brackets without any modification then the reverse is also possible. The mod they may be talking about is redrilling the 13" rotors for the sho bolt pattern.

it is odd i've not seen this done on gen III's shrug

Kirk D. (sorry dude, cant spell your name from memory yet for some reason wink ) and Glen Murdock as stated above, both have Cobra brakes on their Gen3's. I've seen Glen's in person before, very nice, very clean.

I was under the impression that stock hose's would work. I used stock on my GEN II going to the cobra brakes.

But kirk used mustang stainless lines, and put a new end on the steel brake line leading from the car. (so he had to re-pressure fit a mustang thread onto the line instead of our off taurus piece)

also, front calipers can be made to fit, and often are. but you loose the E-brake ability.

Stock Cobra rotors drilled 2 bit sizes up to allow them to fit snug on Taurus pattern. Calipers are Manufactured by PBR in Australia, same company that makes the Cobras. I had to file the passenger side stock line block slightly to allow it to turned around to fit the caliper. The calipers are also are mounted on the opposite sides so the bleeders are orientated correctly since the Cobra's have the calipers mounted rearward on the spindle.
