I've heard of guys going with Cobra brake upgrade. What are the pros and cons compared with the 96' upgrade? Also, what would i need to make this possible with my 92'? Thanks

If you're going to do the mod on a '92, you still need to upgrade to the '94-95 hubs.

The Cobra brakes are 13" diameter, whereas the '96 upgrade is 11.6". You also have many more options at this point in terms of rotors. You can do anything from getting the (heavy) factory rotors to going to the Eradispeed rotors with aluminum hats, making the total package one of the lightest brake packages out there.

You need the rotors (Oh, did I mention they require special milling to fit the SHO bolt pattern?), the calipers, and the pads, as well as 17" wheels.

you would probibly be better off(if u want huge brakes) to go with the baer kit. its 655+ shipping from SP motorsports and u may be able to find it for less. These bolt right up to the spindles from a 94-95 SHO. BTW you would need ther 94-95 sho spindles no matter what upgrade you want.

Only if you want your ABS to work after the brake upgrade

You can usaully find a complete "take-off" 13.0" front brake setup from a '94-01 Mustang Cobra on Ebay for less than $300. That a set of '94-95 Taurus front spindles with ABS, from a salvage yard and your on your way.

IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE SPINDLES FROM A SHO!

Spindles from:

1994, 1995 Taurus (inc. SHO)
1994, 1995 Sable
1993, 1994 Continental

(This is from 3 different Ford dealers. The spindles are all the same)
