Hi, i've got a 1990 SHO, 3.0 v6, with a dead clutch. So, i'm taking this opportunity to drop an identical engine with fewer miles into the car, and i hope to have some dual turbos on it by spring :dribble:

So i've heard a ton of good things about ZOOM and SPEC clutches.
was thinking about going with the ZOOM stage 2 since its about 100 bucks cheaper, and advance auto parts can order it in a day.

HOWEVER

on their website, They only have listings for the 1990 TAURUS GL, L, and LX Clutches.

is there a difference between those and what i should put in the SHO?

Southbend DXD Stage 2 is the way you want to go. You can do it right the 1st time or the 3rd time, but I can promise you that it will cost less getting it right the first time.

The 1990 L, GL, and LX never had a 5 speed option. Another reason not to order from that site.

And unless you mean dual turbo mufflers....

...subscribed.

10-4.
I have read alot of good things about South Bend clutches, even more specifically the stage 2. Is there anything that makes it that much better than the SPEC?

and would you suggest Cryogenic treatment?

p.s. the whole turbo idea is more of a phantasm right now. haha. I definitely have more research to do before i start that project. Right now i just need to make sure i have a clutch that would be able to handle.

The South Bend is a good way to go. We do have many clutch options available: SHO Source

People have been having some problems with Spec clutch as of late.

Thanks for the advice.
Do you know of anybody getting the cryogenic treatment and showing any notable difference in performance?

While southbend is the high performance "clutch du jour", many people will testify that the tried and true stock Valeo clutch will do very well in almost all naturally aspirated (even 50 shot) setups.

Unless the car is already turboed, save your money.

I bought a stage two clutch for my 92. I bought bought SPEC. I got it for 411 with free shipping. I looked into a others but no one said that I should buy on other the other at the time I was researching it. I was suppose to get it on today but am having an issue with transmission but it will be ready tommorrow.
