hi i just got my 94 sho not even a week ago and i went to start it and put it in reverse fine 1st was fine but whan itried to shift into second it wouldnt let me at all so i turned it off i kept trying o figure out what was wrong i was eventually was ale to get home by starting it in 3rd and driving home and it would sometimes let me shift but it would be really hard. i left it overnight and i was reading around and some people said that the clutch might be stuck on the flywheel and to put it in 1st gear and with the clutch in push it so they would seperate so i did and now it shifts with a little effort but i go really slow it revs high but no power so now im stuck any ideas as to what it is?? please help!!

clutch is gone, pressure plate broke, or the throw out bearing is stuck....either way I'd start saving up for a clutch replacement. good luck

Clutch Time!!!! X10

Mine was to the point of having to turn the car off to get it in reverse, I though that was a PITA, but yours somehow made it much further than that.

actually, mine was a little further along than yours as I couldn't get it to go into any gears at that point...

The ceramic bearing is a must. 100 dollars is alot for TOB but the extra security is worth it. Its why you have the problem you have. I've come to find the most common clutch failure with these cars is when the TOB eats the PP straps.

Sucks you only had it a week and the clutch is shot. I know how you feel. You buy these old cars and have them not even a week and $hit hits the fan.

The consensus these days is to run the stock w/ shonut TOB?

I remember back in the day (96-97) when the guys on the original SHO forum (Car & Driver SHO board) were running Centerforce clutches. Most on here don't think highly of them I don't believe. Most of those guys have long gotten rid of theirs, one being a personal friend of mine that had 4.

Mine is hard to get into reverse after driving. The clutch grabs well and is smooth, so I'm thinking it's a linkage issue. It's got the upgraded rod shifter but you have to fight with it.

That's a bunch of crap. The Autozone kit for SHO has a Valeo PP, and a Ford OEM disk with the Ford factory PN stamped right on it. You'll get the same thing regardless of where you buy it or what brand's box it comes in. Just buy one wherever you get the best price, deal on shipping, and warranty.
