clutch thickness

how can i tell how much life is left on a clutch? just tore apart a car and the clutch shifted good but i want to know how thick a brand new clutch disc is to compare to the one i have, . maybe i wont need to buy one after all

I look to see how far "down" the rivits that hold the friction material are, in the holes.
I have actually never wore a clutch disc out. The pressure plate fingers and throw out bearing fail me long before the disc.

one guy said .300 and another said .325. i have a used one thats .300 so im thinking that it was replaced berfore. ??
