Sorry to hear it got torn down again with no obvious problem. :( How was the TOB? Any abnormal wears or marks on anything? I hope not an internal failure.

Scott on the other thread regarding tensioning the cable, you corrected me and said that pushing up on the blue plastic piece while releasing the pedal to its upward position will loosen the tension. Do I have this right now? Anyway, neither before nor after the service have I ever heard the 'clicks' when pulling up with the ten pounds of force.

Though the cable seemed to be taut(no play in the shift lever), could this be the problem? If so, what is needed to fix it? Do I need to leave the car disassembled? Anyone want to buy a car? J/K...for now.

When you reinstall the clutch assembly, double check that the clutch disc is centered and every bolt is properly torqued down to spec. with loctite.

Based on what is known, is the consensus that the tranny is NOT at fault? I don't want to reassemble before hearing your opinions. Thanks.

Any thoughts on my question about the cable adjustment mechanism?

Based on what you have told us the tranny/internals shouldn't be at fault. If anything I would find the clutch/PP/TOB at fault. What type of clutch did you go with again?

Okay, thanks. I have the Southbend TZ and Fidanza combo. The quality looks very good.

Bank of SHO:
Does anyone have an answer to this question: With the ignition off, it shifts just fine; does this mean anything or help the diagnosis?
If a clutch is not properly disengaging or is dragging in any way, it will make shifting very difficult when the engine is running as the lack of clutch disengagement is putting some load on the tranny gears. When you shut off the engine, the loading on the tranny gears goes away. If you think about it, since the engine is no longer spinning and trasnferring a load thru a partially disengaged clutch the trans is not loaded up, making it easier to shift.
