How long will a slipping clutch last ? i have a 92 that has been slipping badly since october . I noticed it starting to slip after some hard driving one night. It started to get worse for about a week afterwords and since then it seems to have reached a pleatu where it hasnt gotten any worse since then is it possible its somthing else ? I went to a local tranny shop to get it looked at and the guy just drove it and told me my clutch wouldnt last more than 2 months . now its been about 5k miles. Oh and it is adjusted correctly . Any thoughts ?!

It's Russian roulette. Eventually, it WILL leave you stranded if you ignore it. How long it will last is anyone's guess. If you haven't already, start saving your pennies.

I was going to have it replaced as soon as it was going bad but decided to wait until it went out and now just out of curiosity i want to see how long it will last im planing on replacing it on march 1 if it has not gone out by then.

I had about the same situation last year and I wanted to see how long it would go. So I bought the new clutch kit and had it ready. We went down to my parents to help with easter and I smoked the clutch on they way, So my wife helped them out and I swapped the clutch. We won't get into the fact that I never opened the clutch box and made sure it was the right clutch and I was hunting one down on a holiday weekend. We will just skip to I did drive it home that sunday night.

It's like brake pads and rotors. The longer you wait, the greater the chance that you'll have to replace the flywheel rather than just resurface it for $25.
