It's kind of hard to describe this feeling in my clutch when I press and depress. It has a feeling of like rubbing your hand across a wet tupperware or something plastic. Any ideas what it could be? And my clutch is shifting fine.:omg:

I think sometimes it just depends on what clutch you have in there. My 89 has a crunchy clutch pedal, yet it has a relatively new clutch. Both of our 92's have a smooth one. A few SHO's that I have owned were like that.

Ok. I guess that just depends on the clutch you get huh? I feel good to know that I'm not the only one with this problem.

Clutch lever bushings, or the TOB is on the downhill portion of its useful lifespan.

If you have a new clutch and it still feels hard to press the pedal chances are the clutch cable is old. Mine actually broke in half a month ago. After replacing it it felt like I put in a new clutch. The cable is cheap too only 30$ or so.

OR an improperly run clutch cable as its binding. Seen it!

Up until now, I have never heard of a clutch cable breaking or misbehaving. You learn something new every day.
I replaced my clutch cable when I did the clutch, mainly because it was so cheap, but the cable I removed was exactly the same length, and everything else, as the new one I installed.

Same here. I must of installed my new one wrong. Its binding somewhere. Should have just left the old one in there as it was no different than the new one.

Check to see if you have an oil leak between the tranny and oil pan. There's a design flaw in the engine that causes the oil pan to leak at the front end of the rubber gasket, tranny end.

If that happens, oil gets into the bell housing and between the quill tube and TOB. The oil attracts dirt which builds up and makes the clutch pedal stiff to operate. Solution is to reseal the oil pan and remove the tranny to clean out the bell housing.
