Hi everyone, I have a 95 mix sho that hasn't seen the streets for over 15 years. ( It has driven maybe 10-15 miles to the new garage about 4-5 years ago). When I pull it out of the garage, and then try to pull it back in (slight up hill) it feels like I need higher rpms to keep the power going without stalling. I can see the engine and it rocks forward (bad rear engine mount) could this be the reason, or is there a such thing as rusted or seized cluch components I should check on? Thanks ahead of time!

I had the same condition. My dad (from whom I inherited the car) was convinced the clutch was going.
I drove it this way for long enough that I became convinced it was not the clutch…
In the end it was oil in the camshaft position sensor. Note that this condition does not necessitate replacement of the sensor (which I initially did) - the root cause of this is the camshaft seal behind the sensor, which is a (relatively) easy fix that I have yet to do - for the time being, I simply remove and clean out my sensor with a lint-free rag, then I do the same for the vane attached to the camshaft (it helps to use some sort of bent tool, like an allen key, with a rag wrapped around it, to wipe away the oil from inside the housong, and reinstall the sensor. I do this about every 1000 milea, and when that drops to 500 I will do the seal.
As an aside, Nick with BaySHO rebuilt this car for my dad some 6 or 7 years ago - Hi Nick!

Evan, long time.... Glad to hear the clutch is OK!
I spent 10 months restoring and upgrading this '89 in 2015. Turned out very nice, even if I say so myself. Are you still having a problem with the brakes not holding in reverse?

How are the brakes? Make sure that all the wheels are spinning freely. If it's sat that long one or more of the calipers could be stuck.

That can't be the problem, unless it's to do with the brake hoses at the rear. Installed in 2015:
Stage 3 front Brake Kit (12", twin piston PBRs)
11.6" rear Brake conversion kit

Haha! That was never a problem in mu experience… our driveway is very steep, if the engine was not running, the brakes are much harder to actuate… dunno, brain cancer makes for some illogical thoughts?

On a side note, I finally scored an interior off of a ‘90 that was in amazing shape, pick n pull rancho cordova. All told I have probably put 400 or 500 hours into the car in the last year. Doing the paint myself too - I don’t think this is a car that will ever “go in to be worked on” - it is too unusual, too modified, too awesome, and so I’ve been studying the shop manuals and these forums, which seem to have damn near everything I need. You did such an amazing job on this car - I’d love to take you out for dinner and pick your brain about it sometime. Hope you are well.

Sorry if I thread-hijacked!
